Hey guys. I need some advice. So I am going hiking this weekend, but I am staying overnight in a hotel so I need to take my birth control with me. The question I have is if I carry the birth control on my person while I hike, Will it protect it from getting too hot from leaving it in the car? I thought about just taking the one pill I need in a small Ziploc bag so I won’t have to carry the whole pack with me, but I don’t know about that either. We will get back from this trip way later Than when I would normally take my pill… What should I do?

I would leave it in the pack, as it’s much more vulnerable to physical damage in a ziplock bag. Unless you make sure to put the ziplock in a container. Any physical damage will make the pill unreliable. Depending on the temperature it might be best not to leave in the car.

@Yi_eune it’s gonna be like 30-60 degrees (Fahrenheit) outside that day. So I don’t wanna leave it in the car, but is it gonna be okay if I carry it in a backpack with me?

if your backpack will be closer to room temperature than the car, then the backpack is safer. the planned parenthood website says that when travelling, carry it with you when you leave your car and keep it out of direct sunlight.

I don’t use Fahrenheit, so I googled the conversion to Celsius and it seems to me it’s going to be cold? Correct me if I’m wrong in that. But *usually* birthcontrol is to be stored between 15-30 Celsius which if google is right would be about 59-86 Fahrenheit and if that’s the case the body heat from your person would be better than the car

@Monkeybutt63 It depends on how warm it realllyyy gets lol. Because if I park in the sun it’ll be warmer in the car, and I don’t want to leave it too long like that. But if it’s colder I wouldn’t mind. I just don’t want any risk :) lol

Yeah I get that, it’s so hard to actually know which would be better

It’ll be fine in your backpack, many users carry their pills around in their bags on a daily basis.
