Hi all! I’ve been on birth control pills for almost 3 years now and the past 2 months, i’ve been bleeding a week before my “period week”. today is my second week into my new pack and after using the restroom, i saw that i was bleeding. this has never happened to me during my time on my pill, it started 2 months ago. Should I be concerned? FYI, i’ve only been with one sexual partner and vise verse. Any advice or idea on why this is happening? Is this normal?

breakthrough bleeding is a common side effect unfortunately and can happen at any time regardless of how long you’ve been on the pill. it’s important to get tested though even if you’ve only had one partner / it’s your first time
