I have a bit of a question/problem. I have social phobia/anxiety and just now one of the salesmen who stand in malls got me into getting a streaming service from my country because I blanked and couldn't say no, I was sweating the whole time, at first I tried to say that "ah, im in a rush" and he kept sayibg itll just take a minute. Half the rime i was fully blanked and really contemplating like what the heck am i doing. I wanted to ask has someone else had yhis happen to them and/or how do you overcome this. Afterwards I was so pissed at myself cuz i literally DONT need this service and now i'm still pissed even cried a bit. :(

Next time just walk away and keep walking regardless of what they say. The more you practice turning people down, the easier it becomes.

You can say you’re too busy to stop, while continuing to walk, nice and politely. If you want to set boundaries and say then no, then you need to get used to being firm and standing your ground, and stop letting yourself getting guilted into doing things you don’t want to do.

I'm sorry that happened to you as he clearly took advantage of your anxiety. Can you cancel the service now? Even if it feels "rude" you should just ignore people like that. It's best not to engage at all because once you start speaking to them they can hook you in and make it harder and harder to say no. Just walk past. It happens to them all the time they're used to it
