What to expect during a breast exam? Ive been kinda anxious cuz I have an appointment next week to get my lumps in my breast checked out, i think i had one for a couple years now but recently felt another one and had a weird abnormal feeling there so I want to get checked out. Anyways, my doctors a male and I know hes a professional and stuff but I still want to know what to expect, what happens and what i should wear.

You can wear anything. You’ll be naked and wearing a gown that opens to the front. They’ll have you lay down and they’ll open the top part of the gown and ask you to lift your arm behind your head and feel your breasts. It’s super quick, takes less than 30 seconds to a minute total I would say

i’ve just had one done, i had to take off my bra and top and lay on my back, the doctor felt both my breasts and felt the lump i was worried about whilst talking me through what they felt. took about a minute or so

Thank you got it done today, had another lady in the room as a chaperone and wore a gown. The doctor only looked to look for visible signs, and physically examined but was looking away which felt better. Two lumps like I thought he said its likely fiber something which increases with higher consumption of caffeine. I will have to book for a breast ultrasound soon just to be safe but yeah not scary at all
