I’ve been having some really bad breakthrough bleeding but let me give you a little bit of history. I’m on birth control so I got my period in October 2023 last because I only ever skip my periods to help with my mood so I keep taking the active pill and never take the shiver pills. I try to get my period a few weeks ago didn’t end up getting it now I’m having really bad breakthrough bleeding. I’ve had breakthrough bleeding for two weeks. Is this normal? Is it because I’ve missed my period for so long.

Also, I’m not taking the pill rn trying to give my body a break. So not sure if that is it also.

when did you stop taking the pill? also having a “break” from the pill isn’t really a thing, it just means when you come off you can have side effects for up to a year+ and when you go back on you have to go through the adjustment phase again- you may not have the same side effects as you did the first time around and this could make it so you don’t like that pill anymore. also if you come back onto the pill after your “break” any time before a year since you stopped you have a heightened risk of blood clots

If you're not on the pill anymore it's not breakthrough bleeding. It's just your body adjusting to coming off the pill.

Taking random breaks is the worst thing you can do, you’re spiralling your body. Either stay on or stay off.
