I’m currently on my period but want to have sex tomorrow but don’t wanna have period sex. I heard that if you start a new pack it will get rid of it, has anybody had luck doing that?

If not does anyone know of ways to stop a period even for 24 hours? I saw on TikTok that having lime juice, jello and 600 mg ibuprofen can stop it for a few hours

Are you currently on a break/placebo week? There’s no guarantee that going to active pills will stop it (especially within a day), and I don’t think that changing your pill’s schedule for short-term plans like this is a good idea. It could mess up your prescription renewal if you haven’t consulted your doctor or pharmacist about getting your next pack early.

Trusting health claims like that from tiktok is dangerous, especially when spread by people who are not health professionals. Periods are only so controllable. You will likely either need to abstain from sex tomorrow, or lay a towel down and have period sex if you’d rather that. I’m sorry the timing has worked out in an annoying way, I’m honestly in a similar situation tonight

Your period won’t stop and that tiktok won’t work from a trainee nurse :)

Apparently ibuprofen can actually stop bleeding temporarily (someone else on here had a nurse recommend that to them) but taking pain medication unnecessarily is not something I would recommend for obvious reasons. I doubt jello and lime juice would do anything and I second the comment above - do not take any medical or health advice from social media seriously. If you do take it, do not expect it to work in the way you want it to and make sure you eat something beforehand, you’re not supposed to take ibuprofen on an empty stomach.

^ibuprofen damages your gut lining over time so I would definitely not take it unless it's medically necessary. Even if you start taking active pills it doesn't mean your bleeding with stop immediately. If you want to have sex don't let a little bleeding stop you.

You should look into buying a menstrual disc for period sex. It's a disc that holds blood like a tampon, but you or your partner cannot feel it during the act. If it's in correctly that is. It's a game changer. I suggest looking up the website Period Nirvana. She has lots of YouTube videos as well that shows different ones and how to insert and remove. I love and swear by it now.
