I want to stop taking my pill but I'm only halfway through this month's pack. I know it would be better to just finish the pack but it's making me really bloated and I hate it, this is only my second month of taking it so do you think it would be okay to just stop now?

What is your plan? What’s the reason you wanted to use the pill? Are you going back to condoms or are you going to try another form of birth control? Bloating is a super common thing, especially during the adjustment phase. It takes 3-6 months to adjust being on the pill, quitting now means you’ve never given it a chance. You’ve been on it for less than two months, so hold on! I would personally recommend staying on at least 6 full months unless the side effects are severe, then I would say try a different pill or method entirely, but I wouldn’t classify bloating as such. Maybe look into things to help the bloating, as it could also be caused by the things you consume. General recommendation when going off birth control to stay off for at least 12 full months, getting back on in a short amount of time may increase your chances at blood clots. It’s fine if you decide to get off but it’s important to make a decision on it.

Thank you so much for your reply, I was on birth control for a full year a couple of years ago at the start of my past relationship but got off because of side effects and just used condoms (then we broke up lol), then i got back on birth control more recently because I got into a new relationship but it ended recently and I have no other reason to take it as I'm not actually sleeping with anyone anymore and don't plan to for quite a while. I would also have had to switch brands in a couple of months as I'm on my year abroad right now and am taking a local brand that they do not sell where I'm from. I don't really like being on birth control due to the risks and side effects and usually use condoms, I mainly took it here because the access to health care and pricing is very different (and far more expensive) than it is where I'm from and I really didn't want to take any chances. I know that bloating isn't really a severe side effect but i have a lot of stress and pressure on me right now and I really don't want to start developing an unhealthy relationship with food yet again.
