I recently switched birth control patch brands today made an month but i didn’t use protection and i kinda been having pregnancy symptoms but i also know it is too early to tell but in the past when i missed my patch change day or something my doctor would tell me to not have sex for 30 days so the medication can be effective

I don’t know why the doctor told you to wait 30 days for it to be effective, you only need to wait 7 days

If you’re switching brands you’re likely fine and just experiencing side effects. What did your new brand say about switching to? It should have instructions in the new leaflet. Your doctor also sounds incredibly misinformed about birth control as what you were told is wrong. Please refer to your leaflet how to use your medication, as it only takes up to a week to become effective.

@Yi_eune honestly i have no ideal .. i just switched my brand to another one because my insurance didn’t cover the one i was originally on
