Hi I have been on microgynon 30 and I’ve just come to the end of my second packet of 21 I’ve been taking my pill at 8pm every night but there is the odd time I have forgot to take it and took it within a hour Me and my boyfriend have been sexually active for a while but I have never let him actually finish in me the other day I said he could because I have been on the pill and I should be protective since then we have done it multiple times and he has finished in me am I protected I’ve never missed a pill it’s always been just a little later then 8pm or around that time

Your body will never be able to tell the difference between an hour or two.

One of the ways the pill works is by suppressing ovulation. So there would be no egg for the sperm to fertilise. As long as you take the pill correctly you should be fine.

You have 24 hours to take your pill before it’s counted as missed and only then your protection may potentially be compromised (ie if your time to take it is 8pm on Friday then Friday’s pill is not counted as missed until you haven’t taken it by 8pm Saturday). Also you can miss one pill anywhere in the pack on a combined pill without your protection being affected.
