TW - food I cook pasta and add store bought pasta sauce and refrigerate it for my work lunches. But the pasta just doesn’t really have much flavour. I’m not sure if it’s the sauce I’m using or whether it’s just inevitable when refrigerating pasta in sauce after cooking?

I personally find store-bought sauces to not have much flavor. I usually add my own spices to the sauce to improve it, or even some additions like sundried tomatoes or ground meat. Even better is making your own pasta sauce, I never used to but my boyfriend makes it and it's not that difficult. He starts with canned crushed tomatoes and adds lots of seasonings and spices and just simmers it for a while, you can make a large batch and freeze it.

Agree with @aurielle; most store-bought sauces don’t have much taste unless you enhance them yourself. Usually leaving something in sauce will make it extra tasty as it is essentially marinating. Try a different sauce or make your own sauce, if you’re looking for a “smooth” sauce you can blend the ingredients after you’ve cooked them.
