My “friend” apparently wants to go tit-for-tat about the fairness of dog watching. I’ve watched her dogs for 3.5 weeks total and she watched mine for 6 weeks total. I have one non-shedding small dog that requires virtually no cleaning. She has two large extreme shedding dogs. I have to deep clean my house each time (which takes me two days) and hire a professional cleaner for the carpet on my stairs each time. Even though I’ve watched hers for less, is this still fair? She acts like I owe her two million dollars. This has become toxic because she says “can you watch my dogs in a week, you can say no”…. If I said no, she would throw a fit. So I HAVE to say yes. I said no to adding an extra day and she wrote me paragraphs. This is crazy!

😬 sounds very toxic and draining. The fact that you can’t say no is not okay. You’re allowed to say no. And the difference in dogs is huge. I wouldn’t be happy either. But I don’t see how throwing a fit over someone saying no to taking care of my dogs is valid. Especially if they’re a hassle.
