hi so i’ve been taking the mini pill since late november, so i’m still pretty new to it. i have taken it every single day since starting it but not at the exact same time everyday. however on the app it always says protected at the status hit. i’m late for my period should i be worried if is this normal because i’m still new to the pill? xx

Ideally you do not bleed at all on the mini pill. Irregular bleeding is a common side effect though. As you are now on hormonal contraception you no longer have a real natural period and therefore are not “due” or “late” for a bleed. And any bleeding is just a side effect of the pill, not a period.

thank you so much. so i should not expect a period at all? i take my pill everyday as i say but the other week there was this one time where he pulled out but a few seconds too late so a little bit of semen was left i think that is why i am panicking xx

I'm on a mini pill and it stopped my period about 2 months after starting and haven't had one since. Totally normal to not bleed at all

it’s just the settings for your app, you need to change your tolerance in the settings

as long as you take it within your tolerance you’re protected, this can be found in your pamphlet

@anxiousgirly the app isn’t reliable for protection status but it’s fine for tracking, simply educate yourself about your pill and refer back to its pamphlet to know whether you’re protected or not x
