Is it possible for birth control to cause you to wake up with headaches? Last week I randomly woke up with a migraine and today I woke up with a little headache that still hasn’t gone away. It is now 9:07 PM and I have a feeling its the pill I switched to 2 months ago. Also does anyone have advice on how to get rid of headaches/ migraines without taking Advil or medication.

For sure. I get headaches on hormonal birth control. For me I get it shortly after taking the pill so I take it at night to sleep thru the headache but sometimes I wake up with it anyway. Caffeine (coffee mainly) helps with my headaches and if that doesn’t work than I take acetaminophen.

Are they migraines with aura?

Yes most birth control causes migraines for me. If they are new and you don’t usually have migraines, I’d speak to your doctor. Unfortunately, there’s really no way to stop them other than stopping the birth control.

@GhostFaceLov migraines with aura is when your sight is affected (eg with blurriness or spots in your vision) or you have other sensory issues like dizziness or tinnitus during a migraine.
If you are experiencing this and are on the combined pill, consult your doctor ASAP.
