Hey, I got an IUD inserted 5 months ago and I got my period this month and have been on it for 2 weeks. I checked and my iud is still in place such as the string and I am in no pain and have had no cramps is this normal?? I know my body is still getting used to it but I’ve never had a period last this long

It’s normal and it’s not a period. Just breakthrough bleeding. Side effects can occur at any time with any type of birth control.

Is there anyway to know when it’ll stop or do I just have to tough it out it’s pretty light and I have no pain I’m just annoyed at this point lol

It’s common and hard to tell it can last anywhere from hours to a couple months everybodys different
