I find not using anything works best. Even avoiding nail polish.

@Yi_eune I don’t use any nail polish at all and I’ve had an issue with one of my nails not surviving to be long
Last time I had used nail polish was forever ago and I’ve tried the strong nails brand but I can’t seem to get myself to continuously put it on so I gave up for now

@silvertink88 I think part of it comes back to genetics, most people in my family have very good nail growth. Products maybe able to assist but you’d probably need to be very consistent with it.

I've heard that vitamin deficiencies can cause issues with nails such being more brittle. My mom always recommended me to take additional vitamin supplements, but I never properly tried them. My work destroys my nails anyway as soon as they get long enough.

I tried a sally hansen growth/strengthen as a base coat for a while but didn't actually a notice any different. I agree that a lot comes down to genetics and how your nails naturally are. I think what's actually helped is trimming my nails regularly, like once a week. I trim just a little to maintain a good length but not let them get too long and I haven't had a broken nail in a while.
