I’m feeling a bit anxious and could really use some reassurance. I recently switched from my old combo pill (Enpresse) to Aurovela, a new combo pill, and started it right after my break week (so, on Tuesday night, after finishing the break on Monday). I’ve been consistent with my pills and haven’t missed any, but I usually take my pills at 1pm and started my new combo pill at 10:30pm on Tuesdays (the day of a new pack start), but here’s where I’m a little worried: I had unprotected sex on the last day of my break week (Monday night), and I’m freaking out a bit about whether that could lead to pregnancy now that I’ve started the new pill. I know it’s not an ideal time to be worrying because the new pill should have me covered, but I’m past the window for emergency contraception, and I’m just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience or any advice to ease my mind. I still have a few weeks until my period is due, and I’m trying not to stress, but it’s been hard not to overthink. Any similar experiences or reassurance would be amazing right now! 💕 Thanks!!

Did you follow your instructions on how to swap to your new pill correctly? I think the answer you’re looking for is in your pamphlet.

^ the pamphlet has this info! Also the pill stops your real natural periods entirely, any bleeding on the pill is just a side effect of the pill and doesn’t necessarily mean anything. You may or may not bleed on the break weeks. You’re not “due”, “late” or “on time” for a bleed any more

Thank you! I do bleed every break week, I’ve been on the pill for 9 years. It says to just start the new pack when I would’ve started my previous pack as usual. Says nothing about protection rate so I’m assuming it rolls over? Thanks again 🙏🏽

@Uneverguess_ yep correct unless it says something about using a backup method of contraception you don’t need any. As you’re on a new pill you’re in the adjustment phase so you may experience irregular bleeding and other side effects, so if you do experience that you know it’s normal x
