hi everyone it’s a bit of a random post but just need someone to settle my head. i work in a nursery and i was doing some highlighting today on a child’s summary and a previous key worker has used a dark purple highlighter to highlight some codes off and then a few terms after i’ve used a lighter purple highlighter to highlight some codes off there is a slight difference but i’m just hoping other people can see the difference and don’t think it’s all been highlighted in one term because it’ll look like the child hasn’t made any progress. i’m sure it’ll be okay but just need someone to settle my mind i’m sorry i’m such an overthinker xx

I don’t think anybody cares about the colour of the highlighters that got used. The point is that it was looked over, that’s the importance here.

@Yi_eune we have to use different highlighter colours each term to see the progress the child’s made and i’ve used a similar colour than what’s been used before xx

It should be fine, you can fix it when you’re in work next if it’s bothering you this much. It’s not going to be a problem over the weekend.

@bluerose9 i just feel so silly for using a similar colour highlighter because i can see the colour difference but some people might not be able too. i might speak to the office on monday and see what they say about it because it will take some time if i have to do it all again xx

@Positive_Vib but you said you used a lighter purple so you did use a different colour.

@Yi_eune yeah i’m sure it was definitely a lighter purple xx

@Positive_Vib surely you can just go over it with a different colour, like putting pink over it will make it more pink than purple Or orange over the purple will probably make it a browny colour

i will need to look at what colours have already been used and i couldn’t think of any colour that would go over purple xx

@Positive_Vib either way it’s really not a big deal and can easily be sorted. No need to be stressing about it at all x

i know i was thinking writing next to the highlighted codes “achieved september- december term” so even if the colours look a bit similar you know when they’ve been achieved xx

i think i’ll ask in the office on monday and see what they suggest and then tell them how i think i can fix it and then it’s done then if i have to do it all again i do xx

Could always line under it with something if needed, just talk to someone when you’re next in and leave it to rest for now.
