Heyy so I took my last pill of the pack yesterday and I’m thinking to stop them entirely because there making me feel sick since I’ve started to retaking them after a 6 month break recommended by a doctor but we had a little intimate “accident “ last night, I’m wondering if it’s best I start a new pack after my 7 day period break to not risk pregnancy or do you guys think it would be okay to stop them without risking pregnancy? Thank you in advance for any helppp🫣🫣❤️❤️

You should keep taking them after your break or you will be at risk. I don’t know why your doctor recommended a 6 month break from the pill but that’s not how birth control should be used. You have to get used to birth control again which can take 3-6 months total. If your pill is still making you feel awful even after 3-6 months you should talk to a doctor about different options before quitting.

^^^ breaks are not good with bc. That info was wrong. If you just recently started taking them again you’ll be in the adjustment phase and it makes sense if you’re getting symptoms. If you don’t like the way you feel ask about switching pills but it’s not good to go off and on.

Thank you guys so much I was given them as poly cystic ovaries syndrome since I was about 15-16 I think I can’t even remember and my doctor had said that it was time for a break since is not good to be on them for long periods of time like every 4 years you have to take a break he explained to me but I had never done that so he was concerned. I took the brake as recommended we had ti see if my periods were more stable now which they still were on and off and when going in for another check the ultrasound showed that my cysts were coming back and he advised me to start them again but now that I’ve finished the first pack and from starting them again they made me feel really sick I guess I’m not used to it anymore

@Hope_gee your doctor sounds very inexperienced when it comes to birth control, I’d advice to talk to a different doctor in the future. There is no harm in being on birth control long term. 6 months isn’t even enough time to see how your body reacts, as it takes longer for it to fully adjust being off. The advice is that if you get off birth control it should be for a minimum of 12 full months. Going off and back on in a short amount of time actually increases your risk of developing blood clots. You’re probably going to be fine but keep an eye on yourself. What you’re experiencing now is normal as you need to start as if you’ve never taken it again. It can also cause a pill that used to work fine now be causing issues, so if it’s still giving you problems a few months in you may need to try different types of pills or birth control to find something that matches you.

@Yi_eune I dunno because every gynecologist I’ve been to they have said the same thing that’s why I thought it was normal for them to say 😩

Nah boo! I’ve been on bc for like 11 years straight! I’m chillin! All good in the neighborhood. Your body and hormones are all out of wack since you went off and on again. So it’s understandable why you’re not feeling good. Like they said, a pill that worked before can have a different effect on you now, which is crazy to me but true. So if this one doesn’t feel right you can ask to switch brands. But no breaks! Read the pamphlets on how to go from one pill to the next. I hope things get better!
