I’m kind of freaking out rn and idk what’s wrong. So I have a new bf we’ve been having sex for about a week or less now without condoms . I’m on birth control and I use the Nuva ring. I started my period today which wasn’t supposed to happen until next week which was a little concerning. I wasn’t worried until I just found out that my birth control ring wasn’t there. Is there any possibility of me being pregnant?

When was the last time that you know it was in for sure??? If you don’t know long how the ring has been out you should assume you’re unprotected and use condoms until you’re sure you’re protected again

The last time I know FOR SURE was a week from today. I’m assuming it fell out the 29th or the 30th because normally when I take it out it takes my body 3-4 to have a period

Okay then replace it immediately. If it’s been 7 days then it’ll count as your break week. And you should be okay. If it’s been more than 7 days than you’d be unprotected.

If you think it fell out the 29/30th then you should be good.

We also had sex yesterday unprotected before I knew my ring was out does that change anything

No you’ll be fine. You can think of it as you taking a break week early. You were protected as long as you insert one back in. I’d say asap cause you don’t know when it came out and you don’t wanna risk it. But you’re good as long as you were using the ring for 7 days+

And on the sex side, it’s always great preventative care to get fully tested before having condomless sex with a new partner. You should both be getting tested and talking about your sti/std status as to be informed and up to date on each other’s medical history. x
