hi i need some help. yesterday i had sex after a week of not having it as i had thrush and it really irritated my vagina. after that i went to the toilet and it stung and i bled light pink blood. what does that mean do i need to get get a plan b?

i’m also on birth control

if you’re on birth control and have been taking it correctly then it probably is just that the thrush inflamed your vagina and so when you had sex it was a bit tighter and sore than usual so when you went to the toilet you just saw some blood from irritation

if you use birth control correctly then it’s fine it’s just bleeding from irritation from thrush

@onthepillxo i think i do use it correctly i just overthink sometimes! sometimes i’m 20 minutes late but idk if that affects anything at all. sometimes i take 2 a day after i goto the bathroom or anything like that

20 mins late doesn’t affect anything no matter what pill you’re on

for future reference diarrhoea is 6+ trips in 24 hours but if you have it over multiple days i’d also assume your protection is affected too

no all that will happen is you will add extra unnecessary hormones into your body. as long as you’ve been taking your birth control correctly then you are completely fine

You’re fine. Irregular bleeding is a common side effect of the pill.

it’s just mixed with discharge or even really light bleeding don’t worry

@onthepillxo if i do think about it i’m sure it was because of the thrush i had. because the intercourse was painful and having a wee did burn a lot

yes it will be because of the thrush, i used to have recurring thrush and the same would happen to me, don’t worry at all
