TW: mention of weight gain
I haven't used any type of shot but Sayana press is the same drug as depo provera, it's just self-injected. Depo is the only method of birth control clinically linked to possible weight gain and delayed (but not decreased) fertility. It's also not recommended for long term use due to loss of bone density.
