Hi I’m on the mini pill I take it 8 pm every night and last night I forgot and took it at 6 am this morning am I not protected? And can I get pregnant if sperm lives from the day before?

Generally the mini pill has a 3 hour window BUT double check your pamphlet as certain ones can have a 12 hour window. If you are past your window for your pill then you would be unprotected, sperm can live inside you for up to 7 days so there would be a risk for pregnancy if you had unprotected sex and missed your usage window

If all of this happens and you’re unprotected you should use condoms until you know you are protected again and test in 21 days for the most accurate reading and if possible take an emergency contraceptive if you’ve had sex within the window of time for it to work

check what your usage window on your pamphlet is but as long as you had sex before the missed pill if you’re outside your usage window, you’re still protected
