I first started my pill over 5 years ago now and only about 8 months ago I was told by my nurse that I don’t need to take my break after 3 weeks that I can just take a 4 day break when I start spotting. At first it was about every 3 months or so but it’s been just over 3 months now and I haven’t started spotting. Is this normal? If you take at least 7 consecutive pills you can have a 4 day break without problems. And yes irregular bleeding is normal.

Normal for your bleeding to stop completely on continuous use! More than welcome to keep taking your active pills. Or you can take a break whenever you’d like.
