I wasn’t sure what to put this post under but please read. ⚠️Regards possible endometriosis and need advice⚠️ Ever since I was 14 when I first started my periods every month near enough I was having excruciating pain, the pain would wake me up in the morning and make me feel sweaty and dizzy, i would bleed really heavy going through pads in an hour and having to be picked up from school because i had bled through. I would get straight in the shower because the heat relieved the pain and I would sometimes pass out in the shower. I went to the doctors for this and they put me on the combined pill when I was 14. The pill stopped me from getting this pain and I was on it for 4 or 5 years. During this time l became sexually active and did notice some pain during this but not every time. I went to the doctor for this and she referred me to have an ultrasound on my stomach, they couldn't see anything. When I was 19 I decided that I didn't want to be on the pill because I didn't want it to affect my fertility or anything so l came off it in January 2024, my periods after coming off the pill were really irregular I would only have them every two months for 5 days instead of usually 8 days before I went on the pill. Around August last year which is 9 months after I came off the pill, I had my first excruciating period pain episode, where the pain woke me up at early hours of the morning, I felt hot, dizzy and sick and couldn't stand up without nearly passing out. I was led on my toilet floor, this lasted about an hour and then stopped and the rest of my period was just 'normal' period pain. Since this, I didn't have another one of these episodes until January this year where the same thing happened, since January I have had this with every period I get, it does only happen on the first day of my period but the rest of the period I do get period pain but nothing like the first day. The past couple of periods I've had it seems to be happening the day before instead, where again the pain wakes me up and I'm just in agony for 45 minutes where I have diarrhoea, I be sick, I feel dizzy and weak and literally have to lie on the floor just to stop the pain. I have passed out from it last month. I know I need to go to the doctor but because of all the issues I've had with my stomach it makes me really scared. I also struggle with IBS which I've read can be linked to endometriosis.

You should see a doctor and express your concerns to them

@dftba oh for some reason I didn’t mention that in the post. I went to a doctor a few years ago and they just put me on the pill and said it was just a painful period, then I went back and pushed more and they said they would give me an ultrasound on my stomach. That came back clear so they kind of just pushed it under the rug again. Then I went back again and they said I needed to get checked for STD’s and STI’s. I probably should’ve done that but o explained I’ve had this pain since I was 12 so a long time before I was sexually active but they just insisted and I never went which is my fault to be fair. I have a doctors appointment booked for a couple of weeks but I just wanted to see if anyone has a similar issue or if this is a normal thing people go through without endometriosis x

Sorry I can't advise on the endometriosis part as you really need to have a doctor diagnose you, so keep pushing for answers because that level of pain is not normal, but just FYI the pill does not affect your fertility so it's still a option to help manage your period pain

I have endometriosis and I can say what your describing sounds like what I went thru when I wasn’t on the pill. I had painful periods first 3 days I was in bed crying with hot flashes throwing up dizzy heavy bleeding like I had to wear a pull up heavy and bled thru that in an hour. I couldn’t walk or leave the bed for 3 days I had numbness in my legs cuz the cramps got so bad I felt too weak to do anything. After the 3 days I’d have heavy bleeding for 9 to 14 days non stop, felt like I was peeing blood, cramps not as bad but still painful…. I finally got on the pill and it’s a life saver, it’s been less painful and on time and alot less blood. I’m not one to care if I can have babies so I stay on the pill for 15 years but I have to say it has changed my life for period times…. Advice stay on the pill, but before that get bloodwork check your hormone levels and also iron and b12. Heavy bleeding will cause anemia and low B12 also take magnesium whether your on the pill or not it helps with the pain. But the pill will save you the pain 🫶🏻 I’m sorry your going thru this it sux
