Hey guys, I have a short question about the pill: I’ve been using the (Brand:) Maxim Pill for two months now. My mood has been getting worse and worse. It really plays with my hormones, which shows every day. I already talked with a therapist about it and she told me that I have to change my pill immediately because it can lead to depression. First, I want to tell everyone that I would not recommend using this brand. Because I’ve heard that it not only can lead to the depression but also fat, if you’re sensible with hormones. (which many women are.) So now my question : A doctor told me that I should start using the mini pill, but I’m not quite sure about it because I have forgotten to take the pill and with the mini pill that would be a big problem but with the normal pill I could still take it afterwards . Now I’m a bit concerned about what to do. What would you guys recommend? Do you have any experience with the mini Pill? Thank you so much ☺️

It's not accurate or helpful to tell everyone to stay away from an entire brand because hormones affect every individual differently. A pill that is terrible for you (and not denying that you've had a bad experience) could work great for someone else. That's why there are many different brands and hormonal options, because everyone is different. Also it's factually incorrect to say that it leads to fat. Clinical studies show that the pill does not cause weight gain. If you're unsure about a time-sensitive method, you could try a long-acting method, there are many that have the same hormones as the mini pill. For example with hormonal IUDs and the implant you don't ever have to worry about missing a pill and being unprotected. Even the nuva ring or patch that you replace once a week might be better for you than taking the pill every day. There are lots of options to suit your preferences and lifestyle.

But isn’t the point of this page to share my experience? The most common side effects for this brand are headaches Brest pain and tiredness and putting weight on. As I said, this obviously doesn't apply to everyone; that's common sense. Have a nice evening.
