Does birth control affect the ability to lose weight? Been on birth control for almost 9 years, been mostly inactive, exercise here and there and eat whatever. Just curious if this is what is stopping me from losing weight.

Being on birth control for nearly a decade, along with a relatively inactive lifestyle and inconsistent exercise and eating patterns, can contribute to challenges in losing weight. It's essential to take a holistic approach to your health and well-being by considering all aspects of your lifestyle. If you're looking to address weight concerns, focusing on creating a balanced routine that includes regular physical activity, nutritious eating habits, and potentially seeking guidance from a healthcare provider or a nutritionist can be beneficial

i don’t think it’s anything to do with birth control, weight loss only happens if you put effort and energy into it, if you were losing weight without trying i would be worried

Birth control does not prevent you from losing weight, from your description you're not really doing anything that would lead to weight loss

Technically it’s not scientifically proven so you can’t definitively say it is or not
