heyyy, i want to start taking my progesterone pills but am currently in the ovulation phase of my cycle, in the instructions in the box it says to start the course at the beginning of menstruation for full protection, but I am not bothered about the protection as I intend to continue using other forms as backup, I’m only taking the pill for my bad periods. does anyone know if it’s fine to start it at this point of my cycle in this case?

Yes you can. The only difference is that it’s not going to be immediately effective. But if you’re not using it for contraception then that’s irrelevant to you.

Yeah, it’s generally fine to start it now if you’re not relying on it for contraception. The “start at menstruation” advice is mainly for pregnancy protection and cycle predictability. Just be aware you might get some irregular bleeding at first. If anything feels off, check in with your doctor.
