TW: mention of death My grandma very sadly passed away today. I live in another country and it just feels a bit weird being away from everyone during this time. I have work tomorrow, I was going to call in sick just to take the day to myself and gather my thoughts. But I’m not sure if this is ‘acceptable’ or not. Maybe I am overthinking, even when I am actually sick I feel bad calling in lol. Just need someone to tell me if they think this is ok or not or if I should just go in as usual

Yes it’s okay. You just had a death in your family. It’s okay to take time to grieve. Sorry for your loss.

Absolutely call out, you are entitled to grieve ❤️‍🩹 sorry for your loss. Don’t feel pressure to justify it to your job either. Take some time to yourself!

Yes! I took a week off when my grandma died. I was very close to her and needed the time.

Thank you! I have taken today off and will go in the rest of the week as it’s unpaid!
