hi all. i’ve been going to the gym for almost a year now and i’ve been wanting to go on creatine for a while but i’m nervous about it causing acne. i know there’s no research about it causing acne directly but i’ve seen reviews online and on tiktok about women specifically experiencing acne even though they drank a lot of water. i was on accutane last year so i’m really concerned about it. please share your experiences and thoughts!!!

Hi! I understand your concerns about starting creatine, especially after having been on Accutane. While there isn't concrete scientific evidence linking creatine directly to acne, personal experiences can vary. I’ve been taking creatine 2x a day for almost a year now and my skin didn’t break out not even once… Staying well-hydrated is important when taking creatine, as it helps with its absorption and can potentially mitigate any side effects. If you decide to try creatine, consider starting with a lower dose to see how your body reacts before moving to the recommended dose. And keep a close eye on your skin’s condition. If you notice any changes, you can adjust your intake, stop using it or maybe consult with dermatologist or healthcare provider since you’ve been on Accutane before.

Introduce it slowly and see how you get on.

@rapunzel18 thank you so much!! if i do start taking it, do you think i should take it everyday or start by taking it every other day? i think i heard people say you should take it everyday to see results but because of my concern it might just make sense to do it this way? also what brand have you been taking?

@viiv77 your dosages should be consistent else there’s not much point.

@viiv77 start with one spoon that is in the package every day and after a while you can start taking one spoon 2x a day (before and after workout is the best). Buy creatine monohydrate and mine is from biotech usa.
