Anyone who has ever had a Nexplanon implant: 1. Do you remember when your side effects began? I know it’s different for everyone, but so far I’m having no change in comparison to my time on the pill, so just curious! 2. Do you have any tips for trusting it, other than just feeling it and knowing it’s there? I know 95% of the science behind it, it’s just an adjustment. 3. Do you guys let your boyfriend finish inside of you, considering it is the most effective on the market (apparently)? I know many people do on all forms, but I know my friends would think I was insane. My boyfriend and I will be reuniting in 3 weeks after him being gone to something so I thought about maybe trying it, since I know it’ll be fully working by then. Not sure though. Thank you for any advice!

1) I didn’t really have any side effects from it, I did experience some headaches after insertion but it could also have been my struggles with hayfever. 2) Research is key really, there is no shame in using condoms until you’re ready. 3) I did but that’s because I had already relied on the pill for protection many years prior. I trust birth control fully. If I had doubt I would continue to using condoms. Also make sure you’re both tested negatively before attempting sex without a condom. This also goes if you haven’t had partners prior. Making sure is best. Don’t feel like you have to rely on it as something special for when he comes back.
