anyone know how to help having a fear of growing up and things changing. I just want to stay like this forever and i fear that anything new will ruin what i have now

not sure how old you are but i’m going to say this with the thought that i’m older lol. that kind of feeling is so common, it’s okay to be scared of change, it means you love the time of your life you’re in currently. but change doesn’t mean that you’ll lose that feeling or anything good in your life that you’re feeling right now. not sure if you’re entering a new part of life like finishing college or university or anything like that, but the memories will stay with you! and friends you can keep those connections!

I feel this way and I turn 29 next month. It hit me when i turned 25 and i think I let those thoughts take way too much power over me. Enjoy your life with your friends and family, enjoy your hobbies, make decisions that make you happy. Thats really what life is all about, it doesn’t change when you’re 16 or 36. At the end of the day you want to fill your days with positive things and that will slow down time and make you feel like you’re living fully. That is all any of us can do and we’re all going through these motions the same!

Agree with everything said above, try to savor the moment and enjoy what you have now even if you know things are going to change. Change is an inevitable part of life and sometimes you have to just ride through it. Things like journaling and comfort books/movies really help me when I'm struggling with transitions. Also new doesn't mean bad! What if what's to come will be even better than your life now?
