Is it possible that getting off birth control causes a yeast infection or bv?

Haven’t heard of that one before. I don’t think it can. It might increase your chance of getting one since birth control is messing with your hormones quite a bit. But I don’t think you need to be worried about that.

@xxxNobodyxxx I read a ton of posts on Reddit about people experiencing BV or YI right after coming off long term birth control use. Some were saying theirs were chronic (monthly). I’ve been off birth control since July 18th but at the beginning of the month I tested positive for BV and yeast. Took my full course of medication for BV. Last dose was July 18th, and I’ve been experiencing yeast infection symptoms with the thick cottage cheese discharge and itching. Today I took my 3rd Diflucan pill. First Diflucan on the 18th, second on the 25th and third one today.

Maybe?? But if you’ve had issues since the beginning of the month, before you stopped BC, it’s likely it’s just that it’s an infection you’re struggling to shake. If it’s still persisting after this ask for a different medication/treatment

@bluerose9 what would be my options regarding different medication/treatment?

@sirenita_6_ I’ve no idea, that’s a question for your pharmacist/doctor sorry
