Does anyone have a bonded retainer? I’m supposed to be getting my braces off soon. and the appointment before my last the orthodontist assistant asked me if I wanted a bonded retainer or just regular retainers and I told her regular because I knew going into this I didn’t want bonded retainers. but my last appointment I got a different assistant and at the end she told me that I’m going to have to get them and it made me sign a paper about them so I’m supposed to be getting it next appointment. (only on the front 6 bottom teeth) But I am kind of warranting to ask my orthodontist before I get them on do I absolutely need them. so I’m just wondering if anybody has them and what do you think of them

My sister has them and she barely notices them. She got regular retainer on the top teeth and bonded in the bottom. Needless to say the top retainers didn’t fit after a few weeks of not wearing them, she tried to squeeze them in and the pain made it unbearable. She’s had no issues with dental cleaning and she barely remembers they are there. I can just notice she brushes a little bit more behind her teeth to avoid plaque build up

I had one on the bottom teeth at one point. I didn’t even know it was there. I kept it for years, but they removed it. I didn’t have a problem with it. I had removable ones but I don’t know where they’re are currently 🤔 my teeth are still straight.
