Hi all. Need some opinions: My bf just said someone else’s name when we were shopping buying a pan. We were being silly and deciding to buy the pan and I was like do you think we actually need it and being indecisive and he was about to say his coworkers name instead of mine. I know this coworker. It’s not inappropriate but idk what to think. I know I’ve accidentally said my exes name to my mom, but my brain is just thinking it’s sus now. And I’m annoyed. What do you all think? It’s a new relationship, like 5 months. He’s a great guy otherwise. He said the indecisiveness made him think of his friend, so that name popped up.

I’ve called my husband (Jake) Jack once 😭 That’s my cousins name lol. I’ve also called him our dog’s name before too. Your bf spends a lot of time with his coworkers, I mean they work together after all. Try not to dwell on it. Sounds like an honest mistake 😝

I don’t think it’s that big of a deal. I’ve done it the other way around where I called my coworker Jacob once, which is my boyfriend’s name. Just laughed it off and continued on. Mixing up names happens a lot, and it doesn’t mean your partner is doing anything suspicious. I’m more curious why you immediately start suspecting him. That’s not a normal reaction.

I wouldn’t worry, mixing up names is common and can just happen sometimes!

Remember if he hasn’t done anything to not trust him there is no reason to be worried about this. The saying goes “trust until proven over-wise”.
