i switched from one minipill to a generic desogestrel mid june and i’ve bled a lot less than i did on the first minipill (Cerelle). however, my spotting started on 19/07 and was very little and i have been bleeding since that. it’s not overly heavy and i leave my pad on all day and it’s also very dark red/brown. i’ve read about it and since ive been on the pill in general since march, it’s telling me that i should go to the doctors as there could be underlying issues. I feel fine though? i don’t really want to change my pill as im getting on okay. can someone tell me if this is normal?

So all desogestrel mini pills contain the exact same amount of active ingredients, so essentially they’re the same thing. Irregular bleeding is unfortunately a very common side effect of the mini pill. Unless you’re bleeding continuously like that for like 4-6+ weeks on end I don’t think it’s anything concerning, unfortunately bleeding for 2/3 weeks constantly is not uncommon.
