Starting the mini-pill (Movisse) tonight after being on the combination pill for years! I’m super nervous about any side effects from switching directly like this (I’m going right from Combo-Mini with no break days). Any experiences or helpful advice? ☺️

if you miss a pill on the mini pill then you are immediately unprotected! and the mini pill has a smaller time frame to take the pill than most combined pills. breakthrough bleeding is super normal (this can be red, brown, pink blood etc).

also no break week on it, you continuously take it

desogestrel pill is 12 hours timeframe, norethindrone is 3 hours so make sure you know how long your timeframe is !!

Please be sure to read your pamphlet carefully so you know how to use it properly xx

Movisse is a norethindrone mini so it has a 3 hour window, so you need to be very strict about taking it on time. Think about when’s best for you to take it, ideally a time that will suit you the majority of the time, during the weekdays and weekends. I also recommend learning how exactly your pill needs to be taken, what are the potential side effects so you know what’s happening if you get them, what can affect it’s effectiveness and what you need to do when you miss a pill. Education is key.

thank you all, I never had any issues with taking my combination pill more than an hour late or hour early, I’ve taken it for so long it’s just routine at that time now! I appreciate all the support and advice x
