i normally take my pills around 1pm but i decided to take them at 12am last night / this morning. it says if i continue taking them at 12am, i’m being inconsistent. is it okay to wait until my usual 1pm tomorrow even though it will be over 24 hours later? i changed the date in my phone to try it in the app and it says protected. just double checking.

How would it be 24 hours later if your usual time has always been 1pm? If you take it at 1pm normally, then you have until 1pm the next day to take that pill. You took it at 12am, which is 11 hours later.

@yi_eune i took it at 12am on tuesday, taking it at 1 pm on wednesday is over 24 hours later.

@k273iii then you skip your Tuesday pill no? Because then you would have taken your Monday pill at midnight, Tuesday? The way you’re wording it is pretty confusing. Either way you should not intentionally miss pills. You may need to take 2 in a day to get back on track.

no. i start my pack on tuesdays. i took it at 12am. tuesday.

So you took your Tuesday at 12am instead of 1pm? So like 13 hours earlier than usual?

@bluerose9 yes. the app is saying if i take my wednesday pill at 1pm, i’m still protected. but that doesn’t make sense to me.

@k273iii that’s probably because your reminder time is set to 1pm, if you changed your reminder time to 12am it would probably say taking it at 12am is okay. What time do you want to be taking the pill at?

@bluerose9 i don’t have a reminder time set, that’s why i’m confused. the only reason i took it at 12am was to get it in my system to stop the bleed, but i want to keep taking it around 1pm. i just wanna make sure i’m protected tho i’m just kinda confused due to the app

@k273iii you can safely miss a pill anytime in the pack on a combined pill so your protection won’t be compromised even if it counts as a missed pill

The app will tell you your protection is compromised if you take the pill earlier than it is set to. You are not unprotected. If you just take your pill at 1pm again it’ll be 13 hours later so it’s in your usage window.

A pill isn’t counted as missed until it’s not taken 24 hours or more after it was due. So if you take a pill at 12am Tuesday, the next pill is due at 12am Wednesday, and Wednesday’s pill is not counted as missed until you haven’t taken it by 12am Thursday. So you have up to 48 hours between taking pills before it’s counted as missed. If that makes sense?

@k273iii 24 hour window means you have 48 hours to take it.
