hi everyone, i’m really worried and wondering if anyone can help. I am on the progesterone only pill (mini pill) and i was over 3 hours late taking it yesterday by accident and i has sex today with no condom and he finished inside of me. I don’t get a period so i don’t know if i could get pregnant or not as the pill gives me no signs at all? Please can someone help??

What pill are you on? Sex before missed pills is protected. Sex after is not. So if you’re on the norethindrone mini pill you need emergency contraception.

You have 12 hours to take a pill on that brand. Did you take it more than 3 hours after the 12 hour time frame or more than 3 hours after your usual time?

12 hours from what? sorry i’ve never understood the 12 hour thing

So if you usually take your pill at 10am, you have up until 10pm to take your pill before it’s counted as missed. So it’s not missed until you haven’t taken it over 12 hours after you were supposed to take it.

@bluerose9 ah okay thank you. So i normally take mine at 6pm so i had till 6am? I took it at 9:47pm so i would i be protected or no?

I’d recommend learning more about how your specific pill brand is supposed to be taken. If you have any doubts about your protection at all you’re best to use condoms until you’re confident you’re safe without them x
