TW: SA, ED (?) Have been having health issues since being r*ped over a year ago. Am in therapy and was diagnosed with a trauma disorder. Have lost around 10 pounds over last few months, passed out from not eating last month, disassociate/feel bad pain every time I have sex, have gotten frequent yeast infections. I’ve been tested for STIs and everything came back negative, have gone in for yeast infections and confirmed that’s what they were, don’t have any bad medical history, have done bloodwork and the doctor suspects the abnormal values are due to not eating, not the other way around. Am wondering if anyone has similar experiences or has advice for having non painful sex in this context. Am frustrated by the lack of research/info about long term SA effects online. Thanks

I am sorry this happened to you 😔 I know it’s easier said than done but please look after yourself and make sure you eat. I feel like you may be dissociating as a trauma response, which is more than understandable. Things can take a long time to get better. Don’t force yourself to be sexually active if you aren’t fully ready for it. If sex is painful after receiving enough foreplay and using lube then it usually points to mental or physical health. Please take care of yourself and take one step at a time.
