Hi, im on the mini pill and i recently took a pill late but continued taking it as usual a bit over a week ago. i started in september and im bleeding since i took it late. i understand that bleeding is normal but i was wondering if i would stop bleeding each month eventually? and also when my bleeding will stop currently since it had been over 9 days

Breakthrough bleeding is always an option, it is common to experience side effects if you take your pill at irregular times. There is no way to know when it will stop. Some people don’t bleed, some bleed for a few hours or days and others may bleed for weeks.

Irregular bleeding is common on mini pills whether you took one late or not. There’s no way to tell if/when it will stop. You may have to talk to your doctor about another method if it gets too bothersome for you.
