Hi!! New aunt here😇😇 My new nephew is due soon after the new year and I want to get him a christmas present (yes i know it might be strange to give a gift to an unborn baby but i’m so excited for his arrival haha). My idea is to get a gift he’ll use as a newborn. To all the moms or aunts out there..what’s a good idea for a newborn? What was a helpful gift for new parents or something that you/the baby would actually use? Thanks!!!😊

I almost always gift blankets to babies and moms seem to love them.

My aunt always brings diapers for newborns since they can get expensive. Also agree with the blankets since it does get cold in January/February. Maybe one of those puree food blender things (babybullet) so mom can make fresh foods when the baby can start eating.

@kitty0806 @heeyjess Thank you so much!!! I was originally thinking of a good stock diapers but thought the type of diapers/brand would be a personal choice. Are parents picky on what type/brand diaper they use?

I would ask the parents of your nephew what they need/want. It is quite presumptuous to buy diapers, they might not want to use disposable diapers, they might have a selection already or they might not have the space to store them etc.

^onesies and those spit up rags are also very helpful with a newborn. They go through multiples a day. Diapers are a very personal choice, unless I know what they like I rarely get diapers as a gift. Maybe some things that will make day to day easier like something to clean bottles or warm milk up? Idk what kinda budget you have but maybe something they can put the baby in like a rocker, or surveillance stuff. You can also use Pinterest for fun ideas.
