I’ve been on my birth control for 10 years now. I feel like I have lost my sex drive in the recent years. I talked to my doc and she recommended lowering the dosage on my BC. Has anyone experienced the same issue and what were results? My main use of birth control other than for protection is bad cramps I use to suffer during my period. Changing pills will change the effects the bc has on you since it’s going to be a different dosage of hormones.

Changing your pill could help, keep in mind that sex drive is also complex and depends on many factors like stress, what's going on in your relationship/personal life, changing preferences and desires, getting stuck in routines etc so just make sure you're attending to those things as well!

Sadly there is no way to know what side effects will come with lowering your dosage. It’s a risk you’ll have to take.

@almaax I have the exact same issue as you, I’ve had a reduced sex drive for almost two years because of the pill, but I’m scared to change the pill because I used to have both really bad acne and period pains, I’m scared to change my pill to get my sex drive back but risk having my acne come back and painful periods
