Are we in the us still safe to use this app to track birth control and periods? I’m truly so disappointed in our country

I don’t know but this app is barely moderated, the moderators used to comment pretty often but they haven’t commented in at least 3 years afaik. So I’m going to guess no but they still could be selling data from here idk. Just a general FYI (I know it doesn’t apply to most here as they’re on BC but anyway) some of the common period tracking apps like Flo and Clue are tracking your data on periods, I believe the app Stardust doesn’t though if you’re looking for an alternative

The app developers posted a while ago that our data is allegedly safe here. That said if your individual phone is taken and searched by law enforcement they could of course still access it. Your risk highly depends on what state you're in and how legal or restricted abortion is in that state. That has not changed as of yet. In fact a few states actually enshrined the right to abortion in their state constitution during the election.

Here's what they said years ago: "The short answer- yes, it’s safe to use myPill, we’ve always placed user privacy as our #1 priority. Let’s start with what’s stored on our server, only two things - forum content and data backup, only if you have the option enabled in the app’s settings. You can always request your data to be erased, after a quick authentication there will be nothing on our servers, if so you desire. The backup store is packed and encrypted in our database, but in any case we would not allow any org or gov to access it. Would rather delete it and pull myPill out of such countries."
