Hi! I’m currently on sprintec and have been for the last 4 years. My periods have always came about 3-5 days after ending my active pills. It’s always been very consistent. I recently started Metformin, and my active pack isn’t set to end until this sunday (it’s thursday). So typically my period would start next Thursday. But today, I started bleeding. Could metformin play a role in this? I’ve never had break through bleeding on the pill before.

Side effects like irregular bleeding can happen at ANY time while on the pill. But yes stress, illness, changes in medication etc can have a huge impact on your body and therefore your bleeds.
