Birth control options Hey everyone☺️ I know everyone is different and can react in different ways but just wanted to see what other peoples experience has been like! I have been on the combined pill for 6 years now, and am thinking about getting the implant instead. I have wanted it for years but have been too scared for the actual procedure as I’m very squeamish - even with injections etc😩 I have a meeting with my doctor today to discuss options but I have just been changing my mind so much and wanted to get an idea of what other people experienced with the change - thank you☺️

I swapped to the implant 2,5 years ago, so I’m am due a new one soon! Honestly the best choice I’ve made. I had some headaches when I just got it but other than that and some breakthrough bleeding after 13 months after insertion that lasted like 4 days I haven’t had a bleed. Ideal! But yeah I barely experience side effects and it’s nice not having to remember the pill constantly. It allows for a lot of freedom!

@yi_eune aww I’m glad it’s worked out so well for you!☺️ hopefully I have a similar experience if I go for it but I’m just so worried I’m going to be one of those people who reacts badly and bleeds for months or something! Yeah that’s the main reason I want it, to no longer have to worry about physically taking the pill every day! I’ve always been good at taking it and never miss them but I still always feel anxious thinking did I definitely take that last night etc! So would defo be more calming to not have to do that anymore😅
