I don’t want to be day 5 into my sugar pills and then my period starts would I after the 7th day still transition to the BC even if I am still on my period?. 🙏🏻💗🥺 yall are so helpful and kind on this app. Brand: Eleanor 150/30 ED

There’s no way to predict/control bleeding at any time on the pill, even if you’ve been on the pill for years. Irregular bleeding is a possible side effect of the pill, again even if you’ve been on it for years, but it is more common when you’re new to the pill as you’re adjusting to it. You may start bleeding at any time while on the break week, including day 5/6/7. You also may not bleed at all. Btw the pill does not give you regular natural periods, it stops natural periods entirely. Any bleeding you experience on the pill is not a real natural period, it’s just a side effect of the pill. If it’s on the break week it’s called withdrawal bleeding, due to the lack of hormones on the break week. If it’s while taking active pills it’s called breakthrough bleeding.

Like the person above me said there is no way to predict bleeding. But for me personally I always did bleed on the second or third sugar pill, and my bleeding would always stop before taking the real pills. That is just my experience but maybe that will make you feel a bit better!

^ to add to that I had an entirely different experience on my break weeks. I’d start bleeding on day 5 or 6 and bleed a few days into the new pack. You will always start a new pack when it’s due; whether you’re still actively bleeding is irrelevant.

@bluerose9 I will take a pregnancy test each month that I don’t bleed maybe just to take that anxiety away from it being new 💗
