TW mention of Weight So this is a weird question but, was it right if the nurse to give me 2 more 3 month packs of birth control. I started just under a month ago, and got put on the p.o.p desogesteral and i went back yesterday to finalise everything because i’m moving to another county. and she gave me two more packets so i now have about 8 months worth of the stuff- she didn’t do any blood tests or check my weight and stuff like that like the last nurse did so is that okay?

She probably gave you all that so you'd be prepared and have enough to get you through your move, which is great. I wouldn't be worried, if you want your blood and weight checked you can make another appointment for that.

She did tell me it’s too early to do all that again so i understand why, do you think when i change my doctors i can just book an appointment to do all of that because i don’t have time now to go back to the same place ):

It’s not as important to check blood pressure with the mini pill. It also isn’t necessary to take your weight, as long as you were happy continuing that brand of pill then it’s good she gave you a longer prescription. They only give 3 month prescriptions for the first couple times just so you have a chance to say if it’s not working for you (on the mini pill). I get a years worth each time mow.

oh wow, i mean i’ve been on it less than a month and i read that it’s common to atleast finish the pack before you get prescribed more. i think for my own mind i’d probably still go to the doctors maybe 4ish months just in case since it’s all free anyway
