My boyfriend is leaving me on valentine’s day to go on a ski trip to austria. Would i be stupid to break up with him?

Seems a bit extreme to break up with him just over that? Has he done anything else that makes you not want to be with him? Was the trip planned for a while now? Have you discussed whether or not you celebrate valentines? Can you not celebrate on another day?

@charlieg_ no one is being horrible or rude here, you did ask for opinions so you got opinions. If you don’t agree with them that’s fine but it doesn’t mean they’re horrible. It would be immature to end a good, happy relationship because your boyfriend has other plans on Valentine’s Day. Probably best that you aren’t in a relationship then if you can’t handle constructive criticism about something you asked. Seems awfully selfish, petty & immature that you would break up with someone over that.

@Moon34567 it is stupid to immediately jump to breaking up with someone over one non-serious incident rather than trying to work through it like adults.

Valentines Day is just a day that has been commercialised. It is really not a big deal. Everything is overpriced and restaurants are super crowded etc.Plus this year it falls mid week, may as well just celebrate the weekend before. So yes I would say it is extremely silly to break up with someone solely because they are not available on the 14th Feb.
