Hello, Has anyone been on contraceptive patch? What are they like? Are they better than pill or injection.

I was on the patch before. I didn’t get any bad side effects or anything but everyone is different of course. I just didn’t like the patch itself. To my knowledge there is only one colour so it’s not great when it comes to blending in to your skin, especially for those with darker skin tones. I would always have a ring of fluff from my clothes around it due to the adhesive. It was quite painful to take off as well as the adhesive was so strong, even after like soaking it to get it off. You also can’t put it on the same spot two times in a row as it would be sore. I struggled finding a good spot to place it as it would be visible everywhere. I definitely prefer the pill to the patch.

I'm currently on the patch after being on the pill for 2 years and I prefer the patch. It has pros and cons just like the pill so it really depends on the person. For example in winter I just put it on my shoulder/upper arm where it's not visible even with short sleeves. (I don't go out of my way to hide it but the color is indeed off and fabric sticks to the sides.) However when wearing a bikini it's only invisible when put on the butt. I like that I don't have to think about it everyday. With the pill I couldn't remember every night whether I had taken it because it's such a small act. I didn't notice any hormonal changes after switching. Feel free to ask any more questions x

@Chattercocox - in summer it's hard to find a spot where the patch isn't visible - sometimes the skin under the patch itches - it's less flexible than the pill because I could decide on the day itself that I wanted to take a break week on the pill whereas now I kinda have to plan it because I don't want to waste the patches by taking them off early - used patches have to be thrown out a certain way
