Subject: type of infection / tmi Hi. So I’ve noticed this past week that I have been having different discharge than normal. Its yellow and there are small clumps, also a bit of an odor. It doesnt help that its super hot outside and i get sweaty + not too fond of liners everyday. Im planning on going to planned parenthood asap but was also thinking if maybe someone could help in telling me if its BV or Yeast and I could just go by over the counter medicine. As my break week is starting next week and I’m not to sure if i can make it to an appointment before then. Thanks!

Based on your description of yellow discharge with small clumps and an odor, it could potentially indicate an infection such as bacterial vaginosis or a yeast infection. While over-the-counter medications are available for yeast infections, it's essential to confirm the diagnosis before starting any treatment. If you're unable to schedule an appointment at Planned Parenthood before your break week, you may consider reaching out to a healthcare provider for guidance on over-the-counter options or to discuss your symptoms for a preliminary assessment

@rapunzel18 i was wondering if its essential to know the difference. As i stated, im not really sure which one it is and am worried i wont know which over the counter med to take. I will try to see if i can find some guidance about the difference from a professional but if not i will be first in line at PP Monday morning.

@onthepillxo yes texture is a bit like cottage cheese. The smell is a bit hard to tell as it kind of minimal. I want to say its a yeasty type of smell but not 100 percent sure.

i would say it sounds like a yeast infections then, bv doesn’t give that sort of texture discharge
